Valentino Spring/Summer ’16 Menswear
Inspired by “The Songlines”
This season Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli drew their inspirations from the classic travel account by Bruce Chatwin – “The Songlines”. A homage to all the travelers out there, the collection was mostly about the ideas of freedom and customization – think about Asian souvenirs meeting denim patchworks from the Sixities. “Cultures become one culture – that’s what we find exciting” said Chiuri as they presented a collection of mixes and fusion with references from all around the world. Embroideries and patches created the globetrotting vibes on almost all pieces with oriental botanical motifs and patched jacket sleeves. There were also deeply wearable clothes if you are not in the mood to go big with overcoats of patches or military-influenced chinos. This season Valentino is here to give you anything you want and from anywhere you want it.
